B. Decreasing the surface area of solid reactant;
Why? Collision theory suggests that the more opportunities for reactants to come into contact or "collide" with other reactants, the faster the reaction will take place. Hence, decreasing the surface area will decrease the probability of collisions between reactants thereby decreasing reaction rate.

What is a ribosome?
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer:

The correct answer will be option C- A structure upon which proteins are assembled.

Explanation:

A ribosome is a complex molecule machine formed of proteins and rRNA molecules which acts as a site for the synthesis of the proteins.

These ribosomes are present in the cell as a free entity suspended in the cytosol or attached to the endoplasmic reticulum.

Each ribosome is made up of a large and small component which translates the information coded in the mRNA in the form of codons to amino acids which join to form proteins.

Thus, option- C is the correct answer.

c. bivalents.

Explanation:

In Meiosis a bivalents are formed during the first stage of meiosis which is the prophase. The bivalent consist of a paired chromosome and four chromatids i.e two chromosomes in a tetrad. one chromosome comes from each parent.

In mitosis, a bivalent is not formed. There is the presence of chromatids, homologs, centromeres and spindles during mitosis and meiosis.

Organic molecules that end in the suffix "-ase" often function as ________ molecules.
dimaraw [331]

The given blank can be filled with enzymatic molecules.

Enzymes refer to biological molecules or proteins, which function as catalysts and assist the composite reactions to take place everywhere in life. The enzymes generally end with the suffix - ase. For example, proteases, which functions to dissociate the peptide bonds between the amino acids.

Enzymes are big molecules, which accelerate the rate of chemical reactions within the cells, and like all other kinds of proteins, they comprise lengthy chains of amino acids.
