Answer : The hybridization of central atom in SeOF_2  is sp^3

Explanation :

Formula used  :

\text{Number of electron pair}=\frac{1}{2}[V+N-C+A]

where,

V = number of valence electrons present in central atom

N = number of monovalent atoms bonded to central atom

C = charge of cation

A = charge of anion

Now we have to determine the hybridization of the given molecule.

The given molecule is, SeOF_2

In this molecules, the central atom will be selenium not oxygen because selenium is less electronegative atom than the oxygen.

\text{Number of electrons}=\frac{1}{2}\times [6+2]=4

The number of electron pair are 4 that means the hybridization will be sp^3 and the electronic geometry of the molecule will be tetrahedral.

But as there are 3 atoms around the central selenium atom, the fourth position will be occupied by lone pair of electrons. The repulsion between lone and bond pair of electrons is more and hence the molecular geometry will be trigonal pyramidal.

Hence, the hybridization of central atom in SeOF_2  is sp^3

Determine if the following compounds are likely to have ionic or covalent bonds. a. Magnesium oxide (MgO) _______________ b. Str
nika2105 [10]

Answer:

The answer to your question is below

Explanation:

Ionic bond is a kind of bond in which a metal attaches to a nonmetal. Also we know that a molecule has ionic bonding if the electronegativity is higher than 1.7.

Kind of elements         Difference of electronegativity     Bond

a) MgO         Metal - Nonmetal                3.44 -  1.31 = 2.13                     Ionic

b) SrCl₂        Metal -Nonmetal                  3.16 - 0.95 = 2.21                    Ionic

c) O₃             Nonmetal- Nonmetal          3.44 - 3.44 = 0                      Covalent

d) CH₄O       Nonmetal-Nonmetal           3.44 - 2.55 = 0.89                Covalent

Carbon, Hydrogen and oxygen are nonmetals

2) Silver coins can conduct electricity.

How many atoms are in 52.3 g of lithium hypochlorite (LiClO)?
garri49 [273]

Answer:

1.62 × 10²⁴ atoms are in 52.3 g of lithium hypochlorite.

Explanation:

To find the amount of atoms that are in 52.3 g of lithium hypochlorite, we must first find the amount of moles. We do this by dividing by the molar mass of lithium hypochlorite.

52.3 g ÷ 58.4 g/mol = 0.896 mol

Next we must find the amount of formula units, we do this be multiplying by Avagadro's number.

0.896 mol × 6.02 × 10²³ = 5.39 × 10²³ f.u.

Now to get the amount of atoms we can multiply the amount of formula units by the amout of atoms in one formula unit.

5.39 × 10²³ f.u. × 3 atom/f.u. = 1.62 × 10²⁴ atoms

1.62 × 10²⁴ atoms are in 52.3 g of lithium hypochlorite.

Readme [11.4K]

Answer:

Explanation:

A garlic allergy is rare. If you're allergic to garlic, you can be allergic to cooked or raw garlic, or to all forms. A garlic allergy is caused when your body's immune system mistakenly identifies garlic as being harmful and produces antibodies in an attempt to fight it off. Does this help?
