Answer:

(-2,4)

Step-by-step explanation:

A positive function means that the slope or rather the gradient of the graph at that point is positive.

The negative gradient always slides from right to left. i.e the intervals for which the function is negative are; between x = -8 and x = -4 and between x = 0 and x = 8.

The function is positive when the slope slides from left to right. From the graph that it is between x = -4 and x = 0.

From the choices the function is positive at,  (-2,4)

it would be the intervals in which the Y value is greater than O, so both (-2,4);[-8,-6) would be the answer

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS!!
DIA [1.3K]

Answer:

Number of dogs = 6

Number of burgers = 11

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of dogs = x

Number of burgers = 2x - 1

Cost of a dog = $ 1.50

Cost of 'x' dogs = 1.5x

Cost of a burger = $ 2

Cost of (2x - 1) burger = (2x -1) * 2 = 2x *2 - 1*2

                                    = 4x - 2

Total amount collected  = $ 31

1.5x + 4x - 2 = 31 {add 2 to both sides}

        1.5x + 4x = 31 + 2

      1.5x+ 4x  = 33

               5.5x = 33

                    x = 33/5.5

                   x = 6

Number of dogs  = 6

Number of burgers = 2*6 - 1 = 12 - 1 = 11

Answer:

  3. vertical stretch by a factor of 2; shift right 1 and down 1

  4. shift left 4 and up 4 (no stretch or shrink)

Step-by-step explanation:

The vertex form equation is ...

  y = a(x -h)^2 +k

It represents a vertical stretch of the parent function by a factor of 'a', a right shift of 'h', and an upward shift of 'k'.

Compare the the given equations to the above form to see the transformations.

__

3. (a, h, k) = (2, 1, -1)   ⇒   vertical stretch by a factor of 2; shift right 1, down 1

4. (a, h, k) = (1, -4, 4)   ⇒   no vertical stretch; shift left 4, up 4
