If water were a nonpolar molecule, how would its properties be different?
Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

Cohesiveness, adhesiveness, and surface tension: would decrease because without the +/-‐ polarity, water would not form hydrogen bonds between H20 molecules. As a result, water would not “bead” up (skcking to itself), or suck to other surfaces well, or form surfaces that can support small amounts of pressure.

What are mutations and how can they affect proteins
Pavlova-9 [17]

Answer:

I just finished the assignment on Edg and I'll just copy and paste what I wrote.

A mutation is a permanent change in the DNA sequence of a gene. The shape of a protein can change when a mutation occurs. The shape of a protein can change the way a protein functions. There are multiple different mutations that can change the way a protein functions: an insertion mutation, a deletion mutation, and a substitution mutation. Changes that a mutation may cause can be either beneficial, harmful, or neutral.

Explanation:

Further help if you only want inspiration for your answer

Edg asks for what you included in your response.

The certain details are:

-Mutations are permanent changes in the DNA sequence of a gene.

-Mutations can affect the shape of the protein that is produced.

-A change in the shape of the protein affects the function of the protein, which may affect the trait that is seen.

The sample response on Edg is a combination of all the above in the order that they are given, make sure to include them in your answer.

I hope I helped!

Have a good morning/afternoon/night and make sure to take care of yourself by eating, drinking water, and getting adequate rest.

1. What is the process that is necessary for sexual reproduction + why is it necessary
Mkey [24]
1.) (Sorry if incorrect I am not sure if you mean one thing or something different.) a.For sexual reproduction you need meiosis to reproduce those haplpid sex cells or else you would be born a clone of your parent. OR b. For sexual reproduction you need crossing over basically when two different chromosomes cross over during prophase one. This helps create genetic variation to not be a clone of your parents.

2.)It increases genetic variation by crossing over.

-Sorry if I was incorrect had to jog my memory a little for this stuff!
