This was a landmark decision by the supreme court. It created all sorts of problems not only in education but in daily living, especially when it came down in 1954. The 50s was just not that into having society's apple cart upset as it was with this ruling.

Briefly Brown vs. The Board of Education of Topeka said that separate schools for black and white children was unconstitutional.
