Who were the ostrogoths and visogoths?
Assoli18 [71]

Ostrogoths originated from a Germanic people called the Goth. The 6th century historian, Jordanes, says that the Goths emerged from the southern Scandinavian regions, were distinguished from other peoples for using short swords, round shields and for being extremely faithful to their superiors.

In the beginning, the Goths maintained a unity, but over time they ended up dividing into two parts. One of them was named as the Visigoths, who were the Goths from the West and the other was the Ostrogoths, who were from the East.

The incident that ended up separating the Visigoths from the Ostrogoths was the Hun invasions in the vicinity of the Black Sea, on the borders of the Roman Empire. Before that, the two peoples were ruled by King Hermenerico. However, with the Hun invasions, Hermenerico ended up committing su/cide and was succeeded by two kings: Vitimiro and Fritigerno. The first led the ranks of the Ostrogoths and the second ruled the Visigoths.

The height of the Ostrogoth people occurred in the 3rd century, when they formed a great empire in the northern Black Sea region. From the 5th century, the Ostrogoth kingdom began to decline after a series of conflicts with the Huns and the Byzantine Empire. With the wars and several deaths, the ostrogoths lost their cohesion and ended up being eliminated.

Why was WWI considered a new kind of war?
Nataliya [291]
Already in 1914, at the beginning of war, battle was much more violent than it had ever been before. And then military and civilian suffering gradually intensified the violence over the duration of the conflict. This progressive intensification lent its own dynamic to the conflict; in the very first days and weeks of the war the practices of war took a brutal turn, not only on the battlefields but also for prisoners and civilians. Even for the ordinary soldier, the enormous explosion of violence that occurred in the summer of 1914 immediately and scathingly refuted all the predictions that had been made in the years prior.

The death toll of the Great War is well known: around 9 - 10 million, nearly all soldiers

So basically they had a new kind of technology to make the war more deadlier

Although it seemed quite important in 1788, Amendment _______, barring the quartering of soldiers in private homes, is outdated
slega [8]
Although it seemed quiet important in 1788, Amendment III, barring the quartering of soldiers in private homes, is outdated today. The correct option among all the options given in the question is option "C". The Third Amendment in the Bill of Rights prevents the government from quartering of soldiers in private homes. This Amendment was actually passed as a response to the quartering Act that was passed by the Britishers at a time of American Civil War. The British Parliament passed this act for sake of putting up their own soldiers in private homes whenever and wherever needed.
