First, it's good to know that the factored form of a quadratic can give you the roots of the graph it matches with. This can be done by handling each bracket individually; let's use (x+3) and (x-5) for example. (x+3)(x-5)=0, so x+3=0 ∴ x=-3, and x-5=0 ∴ x=5
Knowing that, take a look at the graph's roots. They are (1,0) and (8,0). This means that the numbers in the brackets will be the opposite value of x for each coordinate. Therefore (x-1)(x-8), A, is your answer.

Ok so we have the parabola at origin of y=-12 and crosses x-axis at points x=1,8 so, we could just look at where it crosses the x-axis and find it directly from there. it crosses x-axis at 1 and 8 so the answer can only be A to fit this criteria

Nada is at the supermarket. She wants to buy a chocolate and a juice that both cost $10. How much will she pay at the cashier if
Illusion [34]

Total cost = Price of juice + price of chocolate + tax = 10 + 10 + [(16/100) x 20]

                                                                                      = 20 + 3.2

                                                                                      = $23.2

What is the leading coefficient of the polynomial function?

y=-x^4+4x^2
attashe74 [19]

Answer:  -1

Explanation:

The given equation is the same as y = -1x^4+4x^2

The leading term is the term with the largest exponent, so it's -1x^4

The leading coefficient is the coefficient of the leading term.

In short, we circle the first coefficient we see. This is assuming that the polynomial is in standard form where the exponents decrease when going from left to right.
