Battles in this conflict took place around the globe and involved most major countries in Europe. The war ended in 1763 with the Treaty of Paris. Under the treaty, Great Britain received French lands east of the Mississippi River including the Ohio River Valley and Quebec. French lands west of the Mississippi and the city of New Orleans were given to Spain in a separate treaty. Basically, the French left North America.
