1. Center: it is located in the CENTER of the pentagon, therefore, your answer is center.
2. Apothem: I'm guessing this one is the one you need help on. Apothem means a line from the center of the polygon at right angles to any of the sides
3. Side: It is pointing to a SIDE of the pentagon, which is where it's perimeter will be found

hope this helps

A fish tank contains 16 goldfish and 24 guppies. If you randomly select 2 fish, what is the probability that they are both goldf
morpeh [17]
Hello, Shakiya214!

If a fish tank contains 16 goldfish and 24 guppies, then we can deduce that the total number of fish in the tank is: 16 + 24 = 40 fish.
If there are 16 goldfish in the tank, then of the 40 total fish, we have a probability of 16/40.

To illustrate this idea, suppose we had n fish in the tank (a guppies and b goldfish). The probability of selecting any fish is 100% (because there are only fish in the tank). If we had to select the goldfish, we could choose them like this:

p₁, p₂, p₃, p₄ ... pₐ

We could choose any one of these fish twice. This leaves us with: 16/40
Now, if they were NOT replaced, we could simply do it again. Except this time, we can only choose 15 out of the remaining 39 goldfish, leaving us with a probability of: (16/40)(15/39) = 240/1560 = 6/39 = 2/13

Answer:

I believe the whole number will be 1 because 3+1 is 4 and 4/4 is one. then you just drop the 4/5. so the equation may be 1 - 4/5

Can someone answer this soon?!?
Sever21 [200]
First get all the terms on the same side:

x^2 + 7x - 4 = 0

Now solve using the quadratic formula which is:

\frac{-b±\sqrt{b^2 - 4ac} }{2a}

Plug in the values:

\frac{-7± \sqrt{49-4(1)(-4)} }{2}

So the answer is:

\frac{-7 ± \sqrt{65} }{2}
