A standard science experiment is to drop a ball and see how high it bounces. Once the bounciness of the ball has been determined

, the ratio gives a bounciness index. For example, if a ball dropped from a height of 10 feet bounces 6 feet high, the index is 0.6 and the total distance traveled by the ball is 16 feet after one bounce. If the ball were to continue bouncing, the distance after two bounces would be 10 ft 6 ft 6 ft 3.6 ft. Note that the distance traveled for each successive bounce is the distance to the floor plus 0.6 of that distance as the ball comes back up.
Write a program that lets the user enter the initial height from which the ball is dropped, the bounciness index, and the number of times the ball is allowed to continue bouncing. Output should be the total distance traveled by the ball.
Below is an example of the program input and output:
Enter the height from which the ball is dropped: 25
Enter the bounciness index of the ball: .5
Enter the number of times the ball is allowed to continue bouncing: 3

Answer:

Explanation:

height = float(input('Enter the height from which the ball is dropped: '))

bounci_index = float(input('Enter the bounciness index of the ball: '))

bounces = int(input('Enter the number of times the ball is allowed to continue bouncing: '))

distance = height

for i in range(bounces-1):

   height *= bounci_index

   distance += 2*height

distance += height*bounci_index

print('\nTotal distance traveled is: ' + str(distance) + ' units.')

Ne4ueva [31]

Answer:

Those numberss are binary code

Explanation:

Computers use binary - the digits 0 and 1 - to store data. A binary digit, or bit , is the smallest unit of data in computing. It is represented by a 0 or a 1. Binary numbers are made up of binary digits (bits), eg the binary number 1001.

Suppose Host A wants to send a large file to Host B. The path from Host A to Host B has three links, of rates R1 = 500 kbps, R2
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:

a) 500 Kbps  b) 64 sec  c) 320 sec

Explanation:

a) We define the throughput of a network, as the actual maximum transmission rate that the network is able to deliver, which in this case is equal to the lowest transmission rate of any of the links that the traffic must go through:

R1 =500 kbps

b) If the file size is given in bytes, and we have the throughput in bps, we need to convert to bits first, as follows:

4*10⁶ bytes * (8 bits/byte) = 32*10⁶ bits.

The time needed to transfer the file, will be given by the quotient between the file size and the throughput, as follows:

t = 32*10⁶ bits / 500*10³ bits/sec = 64 sec

c) If the transmission rate R2 is reduced to 100 kbps, R2 becomes the lowest transmission rate in the network, so it becomes the new throughput.

So, the time needed for the same file to be transferred to host B is as follows:

t=  32*10⁶ bits / 100*10³ bits/sec = 320 sec
