Both were agricultural workers,but serfs were unfree.unlike slaves,serfs were tied down to the land their master owned.serfs had rights and more obligations to their lord and his manor.so you cansay that slaves were a lower class than serfs

They had rights, but they had more obligations to their lord and his manor. They had to work a certain number of days for him (for free) and they had to stay in the area (or get permission to go elsewhere).
