What are the ratios for the Genotype and phenotype

Biology

Well, for Heterozygous short-hair (Hh) X heterozygous short-hair (Hh), after you put it in the Punnet square, you get HH, Hh, Hh, and hh. So the genotype is simply the different combinations you see here. So HH = homozygous dominant. Hh=heterozygous and hh is homozygous recessive. You have 1 HH, 2 Hh, and 1 hh. So genotypic ratio would be 1:2:1 for homozygous dominant: heterozygous: homozygous recessive

Phenotypic ratio here would be 3:1 since HH and the two Hh's have a big H and show the dominant trait. Only 1 (hh) shows the recessive trait. hope this helps

Suppose that allele D produces tiny ears and allele d produces normal ears. A heterozygous male with the Dd genotype mates with
kotegsom [21]

Answer:

The correct answer is 35 percent.

Explanation:

Allele D produced tiny ears, and allele d produces normal ones. If a heterozygous male with Dd mates with the homozygous female with dd, then generally, the expected offspring produced will be 50 percent with tiny ears, and 50 percent with normal ears.

However, in the given case, the penetrance is 70 percent. Thus, the probability of the offspring with tiny ears will be:

Penetrance = 70 %

Probability = 70 % of 50 % of 100

= 70/100 * 50/100 * 100

= 35 %

Hence, the probability of the offspring with tiny ears is 35%.

During which step of meiosis do the pairs of homologous chromosomes split up, but the sister chromatids stay attached?
Degger [83]

Answer:

A) Anaphase I

Explanation:

During the Anaphase I of meiosis, the pairs of homologous chromosome split up. During this phase sister chromatids of each pair is formed and start moving towards the opposite poles. By the end of anaphase out of each pair of sister chromatids , reaches to the poles of the spindle fibre. During the metaphse of meiosis the chromosomes start their movements and arrange themselves between the poles and the equator of the spindle.
