If newspapers had been printed monthly instead of daily, The Federalist Papers would have been less successful.  The Federalist Papers had essays which were printed in the newspapers, with three or four pieces of them each week. If they were printed monthly instead, they wouldn’t be able to reach as much people.

In the excerpt from Richard Wright's autobiography "Black boy" title "the rights to the streets of Memphis" the 2 similes that describe the setting in some way are found in the following sentences:

1. "My mother finally went to work as a cook and left me and my brother alone in the flat each day with a loaf of bread and a pot of tea".

2. "Sometimes, when she was in despair, she would call us to her and talk us for hours, telling us that we now had no father, that our lives would be different from those of other children, that we must learn as soon as possible to take care of ourselves, to dress ourselves, to prepare our own food; that we must take upon ourselves the responsibility of the flat while she worked"

Explanation:

From the excerpt, there are similes in the above sentences that describe the setting of the story. It reveals that the family seem to be a single-parent family where the mother is left to cater for the children. The father has been away for sometime leaving the mother alone with the children. Who was the internet on the soft rain and why
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

"There Will Come Soft Rains" is a science fiction short story by author Ray Bradbury written as a chronicle about an alone house that stands intact in a California city that is otherwise obliterated by a nuclear bomb, and then is destroyed by a fire caused by a windstorm. First published in 1950 about future catastrophes in two different versions in two separate publications, a one-page short story in Collier's magazine and a chapter of the fix-up novel The Martian Chronicles, the author regarded it as "the one story that represents the essence of Ray Bradbury. Bradbury's foresight in recognizing the potential for the complete self-destruction of humans by nuclear war in the work was recognized by the Pulitzer Prize Board in conjunction with awarding him a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation in 2007 that noted, "While time has quelled the likelihood of total annihilation, Bradbury was a lone voice among his contemporaries in contemplating the potentialities of such horrors. The author considered the short story as the only one in The Martian Chronicles as a work of science fiction.
