The correct answer is D. Creation of the civil service exam

Explanation

The civil service examination system in Imperial China was a testing system designed to select the most suitable candidates to be appointed as Chinese government officials. This system was influenced by the teachings of Confucius, a Chinese philosopher who wrote deeply on governance and meritocracy. This meritocracy system is the longest-lasting in the world, so it can be said that confusion has impacted the Chinese government and society because they were created based on his studies. So, the correct answer is D. Creation of the civil service exam.

Who Stole the News?: Why We Can’t Keep Up with What Happens in the World, Mort Rosenblum (John Wiley & Sons, 1993).

Tainted Truth: The Manipulation of Fact in America, Cynthia Crossen (Simon & Schuster, 1994).

The U.S. press, like the U.S. government, is a corrupt and troubled institution. Corrupt not so much in the sense that it accepts bribes but in a systemic sense. It fails to do what it claims to do, what it should do, and what society expects it to do.

The news media and the government are entwined in a vicious circle of mutual manipulation, mythmaking, and self-interest. Journalists need crises to dramatize news, and government officials need to appear to be responding to crises. Too often, the crises are not really crises but joint fabrications. The two institutions have become so ensnared in a symbiotic web of lies that the news media are unable to tell the public what is true and the government is unable to govern effectively. That is the thesis advanced by Paul H. Weaver, a former political scientist (at Harvard University), journalist (at Fortune magazine), and corporate communications executive (at Ford Motor Company), in his provocative analysis entitled News and the Culture of Lying: How Journalism Really Works.

PlEASE I NEED HELP. How did Vietnam become a single communist nation?
Luba_88 [7]

Correct answer:

U.S. troops withdrew and North Vietnamese troops successfully invaded South Vietnam.

Explanation:

US President Richard Nixon had instituted a policy of "Vietnamization" in regard to the Vietnam War, which emphasized that the United States needed to empower South Vietnamese forces to assume more combat duties. He proposed drawing down US involvement in the war and seeking "peace with honor," as he put it. By the time that President Nixon and US policy shifted to this sort of approach, it was too late to stave off the victory of the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces. The US eventually withdrew its forces from Vietnam in 1973. By 1975, Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam, fell to the North Vietnamese communist forces. South Vietnam unconditionally surrendered to North Vietnam on April 30, 1975.
