Ok, note to a mod who deleted my answer, it would have been nice to ask for correction first (or maybe I wasn't online long enough to see?) so I can improve and see what went wrong

how long before car2overtakes car1,

since car2 is faster than car1, we assume that car1 left first
it left 18 minutes first

find how much distance that is
45 times hours=distance
60minsperhour
45 times 18/45=distance=13.5
headstart of 13.5miles

so

their distances are reprsetned by

45h+13.5=car1distance at h hours AFTER 18 minutes
65h=car2 disstance at h hours AFTER 18 minutes

when will distance be same?
set equal to each other

45h+13.5=65h
minus 45h both sides
13.5=20h
divide oth side by 20
0.675=h
0.675 hours

we round
0.68

answer is 0.68 hours
(note again, if  you want to delete my answer or see something wrong with this answer, tell me what it is so I can improve and learn (or maybe I can show you where you are wrong))

Mrs.Fielder decides to build a small snow shelter for her children to wait in before the school bus arrives in the morning she h
sergejj [24]

Answer:

The answer is below

Step-by-step explanation:

Mrs. Fielder decides to build a small snow shelter for her children to wait in before the school bus arrives in the morning. She has only enough wood for a total perimeter of 20 feet.

a. Make a table of all the whole number possibilities for the length and width of the shelter. Find the area of each shelter.

b. What dimensions should Mrs. Fielder choose to have the greatest area in her shelter?

c. What dimensions should Mrs. Fielder choose to have the least area in her shelter?

d. Township building codes require 3 square feet for each child in a snow shelter. Which shelter from part (a) will fit the most children? How many children is this? Explain your reasoning.

Solution:

a) Let W represent the width of the school shelter and let L represent the length of the school shelter. Therefore:

Perimeter of the school shelter = 2(length + breadth)

20 = 2(L + W)

L + W = 10

Also, the area of the school shelter = L * W

Length (ft)              Width (ft)           Area(ft²) = length * width

1                               9                        9

2                              8                        16

3                              7                         21

4                              6                         24

5                              5                         25

b) The shelter with a length of 5 ft and width of 5 ft has the largest area.

c) The shelter with a length of 1 ft and width of 9 ft has the least area.

d) The 4 by 6 ft shelter can hold 8 children (24 ft² / 3 ft² = 8) and the 5 by 5 ft shelter can hold 8 children with an extra space (25 ft² / 3 ft² = 8.33).

<u><em>The additive identity property </em></u>. . . is being used here because no matter what the value is, whenever you add zero (0) to it, you'll always get the value your started with.

Megan and Heidi are making cookies for an upcoming bake sale. Megan is making chocolate chip cookies and Heidi is making sugar c
koban [17]

Answer:

Heidi (260 cookies)

Step-by-step explanation:

Megan's equation is given as y=8x, where x is the number of bags, and y the number of cookies:

#First calculate Heidi's total number of bags, cookies and cookies:

H_b=\sum{bags}\\\\=10+12+14+16\\\\=52 \ bags\\\\H_c=\sum{cookies}\\\\=50+60+70+80\\\\=260 \ cookies

#Given that both Heidi and Megan make the same number of bags of cookies, Megan's cookies totals to:

H_b=M_B=52 \ Bags\\\\M_c=y=8x, x=52\\\\y=8\times 52\\\\=416\\

Hence, Megan makes 416 cookies.

#From our calculations:

416>260\\\\M_c>H_c

Hence, Heidi makes the least number of cookies(260 cookies) compared to Megan's 416 cookies.
