Let

x=3\frac{1}{2} \\ \\ y=-1\frac{1}{2}

<u>Find the sum of the mixed numbers x and y</u>

(x+y)=3\frac{1}{2}+(-1\frac{1}{2})\\ \\(x+y)=2

therefore

<u>the answer is</u>

Yes, the sum of two mixed numbers be equal to 2, only if you include a negative mixed number

No because mixed numbers need atleast a one and a fraction to be a mixed number. But if there was a fraction then it couldn't equal two, because of the 1's

If 140 students want to go on the Coronado Island field trip and are ALL riding together, how many cars will they need if each c
Kryger [21]

Answer:

24

Step-by-step explanation

bruh...

1. Divide 140 by 6 and you get 23.3 repeating

2. When you multiply 23 times 6 you get 138. (not enough seats)

3. So, you would need to have at least 24 cars in order for everyone to go on the trip. (24 x 6 = 144 seats)

EXPLAIN AND I WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST
9966 [12]

Answer:

(-3, 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the coordinates of a point being reflected across the x-axis you need to use the rule (x, -y) on the point. Example: If the point was (4, 7) you would make the y value negative since it is positive, which would give you (4, -7) which is the point after being reflected across the x-axis. I know this one is for reflecting on the x-axis but for future problems if you want to reflect across the y-axis you do the same thing but with the x value, so (-x, y)

A delivery truck is transporting boxes of two sizes: large and small. the combined weight of a large box and a small box is 60 p
sdas [7]

Let a = weight of large box in pounds

Let b = weight of small box in pounds

(1) 65a + 70b=4000

(2) a+b=60

Now we can simultaneously solve these equations.

a = 60 - b. Hence 65(60 - b) + 70b = 4000 So 3900 + 5b = 4000 and 100 = 5b hence b = 20.

SImilarly a = 40. Now we can verify too by putting in the calculated values.

The ratio of the side length of a square to the square's perimeter is always 1 to 4.
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

Side length of square (inches): 1 ,2, 4, 7

Perimeter of square (inches). : 4, 8, 16, 28

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio is 1:4 (S:P).

So:

#:8, #=2. This is because 2/8 and 1/4 both = 0.25.

#:16, #=4. 4/16=0.25

7:#, #=28. 4x7=28, 7/28=0.25

Hope that helps
