Shelly and Lincoln have been married for two years. Shelly loves surprises, and she wants to throw a surprise party celebrating
lubasha [3.4K]

Answer: the correct answer is D. Novelty/predictability.

Explanation:

Relational dialectics is an interpersonal communication theory about close personal bonds and relationships that highlights the issues, struggles and interplay between contrary tendencies. This theory, proposed respectively by Leslie Baxter and Barbara Montgomery in 1988, defines communication frameworks between relationship partners as the result of never ending dialectical tensions.  The dialect is, in this case, novelty/predictability since Shelly has taken a novel action and Lincoln is predictable in the sense that he is schedule-oriented.

While in the Dean's office, Ari spoke quietly and sat in a dignified fashion. Ari then went to a soccer game where he jumped up
Alika [10]

Answer: Situation specificity

Explanation:

As a person grows, he often understands the behaviors and forms of expression that he must adopt. It is understood that there are ways to behave according to the situation in which the person can be present.

It can be called situation specificity the way a person acts and express itself according to the context in which the person can meet. It is easy for adults the codes established at the time of expressing and behaving according to the place. For children, this is more difficult since their little reason does not allow them to identify at what time they should not cry or play. This is normal since they have not yet reached the stage of maturation that allows them to differentiate at what time they should do something or not, and also that their poor vocabulary makes them express their needs in another way.

In the case of Ari, it can be seen that he behaved as expected according to the context. When he was at the Dean’s office, Ari remained calm and polite. I knew the Dean’s office was not a place to be talking loudly or shouting. Then when he went to a soccer game, Ari started screaming and jumping, something that is expected when a person goes to watch a game of any sport. It is normal to shout, clap, jump and celebrate when you are watching a sport.

Not all people will be able to act and express in certain ways depending on the context and this would not necessarily be because they do not know the ways of behaving. Some mental or physical illnesses can influence a person's behavior, causing them to behave in a way that they do not expect.

cestrela7 [59]
The answer is b. Behavioral. This scenario best exhibits that Linda's fear of cats is a learned behavior, which is a perfect definition of the behavioral model of abnormality. Models of Abnormality are hypotheses which categorize the nature of psychological issues. Through knowing the nature of the issue, they can determine the needed interventions and action plans to treat it.

Greater excitability of the ______ may explain why people with phobic disorders experience more fear in response to threatening
goblinko [34]

Greater excitability of the "amygdala" may explain why...

The amygdala is fundamental for deciphering feelings, especially threatening stimuli. Outer stimuli travel to the amygdala by means of two distinctive pathways, which supplement one another. A short, uncertain course originates from the thalamus, which gets sensory stimuli and enables us to get ready for potential threat before knowing precisely what the threat is. A more exact course originates from the medial prefrontal cortex, the zone of the mind that is associated with the final phase of dread, in which the cerebrum responds to risk and picks a plan.
