Generally an interpreter is needed to translate what a non English speaking person comes for any medical assistance. If a non English speaking patient comes without an interpreter then attempt should be made to find someone who can communicate. The medical office should hire a bilingual office staff to avoid such situation.
The medical assistant can ask someone to help communicate with the non English patient or advice the patient to come with an interpreter.
