27-5= 22
22- 1/2=11

11 turkeys come into the field. 18 plus 9 is 27. 27 minus 5 is 22. half of 22 is 11.

Okay so first you distribute to both sides(the arrows). then you subtract 5y to both sides and bring everything down. then you subtract 7 to both sides and get -27=9y and divide by 9 to get the y alone .
