Answer:

The best answer to the question: How does Wyllie´s translation of The Metamorphosis make Gregor seem more connected to his family than Neugroschel´s does? Would be, B: Wyllie refers to Gregor´s parents as "his mother" and "his father" instead of "the mother" and "the father".

Explanation:

"The Metamorphosis" is a novel that was written by author Franz Kafka, and which was published in 1915 for the first time. Because the book´s original language was German, there have been several people who have taken the time to translate this famous work into other languages, particularly English. Joachim Neugroschel was one of them, and the other was David Wyllie.

When you read the two excerpts of this story, which were translated by each of these men, you notice a big difference between them and that is, that Neugroschel establishes a distancing between Gregor and his parents by not refering to them as "his parents", but rather using a more neutral term "the mother" and "the father". Wyllie, on the other hand, establishes the closer connection of Gregor to these two people in the scene by not just mentioning the parentage connection, but also by using the pronoun "his", which shows that these parents are not just random ones, or anyone´s parents, but specifically connected to Gregor. This is why the answer is B.

Which details support the outline level " conflict between groups"
Nataly_w [17]

Answer:

D.

“Montagues” and “Capulets”

Explanation:

Romeo and Juliet are individuals, not groups. Letter B is also mentioning individuals. Letter C is about abstract concepts. For us to have a conflict between groups as the outline suggests, we need two groups and that's what we have in option D. Montagues and Capulets are family names, each having many people carrying the same name. They're family groups. Also, in the Play (Romeo and Juliet), the two families hate one another.
