The movie theater sells child tickets for $1 and adult tickets for $2 during the matinee. regular admission is $4 for a child an

d $6 for an adult. if the matinee made $41 and regular made $158, how many children and adults went to the movies?

The were 35 child tickets sold and 3 adult tickets sold.

How did I get this?
First, let's look at what we know.
Matinee
(C)hild ticket = $1
(A)cult ticket = $2

Regular
(C)hild ticket = $4
(A)cult ticket = $6

2. We need to make two equations out of this:
1C + 2A = $41
4C + 6A = $158

The variables represent the amount of tickets, which is the unknown.

3. Process of elimination, multiply the first equation by -3 because we want to cancel out one set of variables.

-3(1C + 2A = 41)

-3C - 6A = -123
4C + 6A = 158
C = 35 child tickets

Substitute the value c into any one of the equations

1(35) + 2(A) = $41
$35 + 2A = $41
Subtract both sides by $35.

2A = $6
Divide by 2
A = 3 adult tickets

We would first change 102% into a decimal which would be 1.02 in which we would multiply that by 2000 in which we would get 2040 which is your answer ^^

Line l is defined by the equation y – 5x = 4 and line w is defined by the equation 10y + 2x + 20 = 0. if line k does not interse
Sliva [168]
Slope of line l (m1)=5
Slope of line w(m2)=-1/5
Since,m1×m2=-1 , line 'l' and 'w' are perpendicular.
Since line 'k' doesn't intersect line 'l' ,they must be parallel b'coz they are in the same plane as well.
Here, 'l' is perpendicular to 'w' and parallel to 'k'....so w and k must be perpendicular to each other.
It can be proven:
Since l and k are parallel, their slopes are equal.
So, slope of k (m3)=5
Since m3×m2=-1 ,w and k are perpendicular.
Hence, angle between w and k is 90°

If the perimeter of a rectangular property is 46 meters, and the area of the property is 76 meters squared, what is the length o
kupik [55]
This needs to be found by substitution and then by factoring. First we know that, using the perimeter formula for a rectangle, the perimeter is 46=2L+2W and the area is 76=L*W. We need to solve for one of those variables cuz we have too many unknowns right now. Let's solve the perimeter formula for L: 46=2L+2W, 2L=46-2W and L=23-W. Now that we have a value for L in terms of W, sub that L value in to the area formula to solve for W: 76=L*W, 76=(23-W), 76=23W-W^2, and W^2-23W+76=0. We have to factor that now to solve for the 2 values of W. When we factor that, we get that W=19 and W=4. Let's first try out the W value of 19 in our L substitution formula: L=23-W so L=23-19 and L=4. That means that we have a Width of 19 and a Length of 4. Trying out the other W of 4 we get L=23-W so L=23-4 and L=19. That gives us a Width of 4 and a Length of 19. In both cases we have a combination of 4 and 19. So whether we say that the length is shorter than the width or that the width is shorter than the length doesn't matter because we only have 2 values for both and they want the shorter of the 2 sides in number not definition. In other words they don't want you to decide if width is shorter or longer than length, they only want the number value for the shorter side which is 4. That's your answer: 4

Answer: The Answer is -5

Step-by-step explanation:

Ok so we have the numbers 4 and 9 and in this equation we are simplifing them by doing 4-9.

this is easy, we do 4-9 which is -5, you can even check this on a calculator. Plz follow me on twitch, InfernoEliteGamingYT21
