Tan basically means ‘so’, sometimes ‘ such a’ or ‘as’ And is used only before adjectives or adverbs or nouns used as adjectives..

Tanto basically means ‘so much ‘ or ‘so many’ or when used with coco, ‘as much’ or ‘as many’
