Having an abundant source or supply of an item means that you have a lot of the item - basically means you won't run out of the supply soon.

Few other descriptors can be having more than enough, having plentiful, having an excess amount, extras, etc.

In 1942, British commandos captured a wrecked  and abandoned U-boat.The commandos got a German code machine from it called an Enigma machine. The Allies broke the code, and were able to locate German U-boats which were scarce.
