Why did Texas suffer see's from the war than other areas of the South?

In the Civil War, Texas (young Texas) served as a support state, and there was barely any skrimishes in the state. Technically, by the governor's word (The governor at the time was Sam Houston), Texas was originally pro-Union, but the citizens wantes war as a way to assert the state's rights. Also, Texas did not fight for wealthy plantation owners in other states;<u> </u><u>Texas didn't have any cotton plantations compared to the other Southern states, so they didn't suffer as bad as a loss than the other states</u><span>. Moreover, during the battles outside of the state, the Texan soldiers either deserted from warfare or joined the Union.</span>

After his naval defeat at the Battle of Trafalgar against the British, in which he lost his entire naval fleet, he decided to attempt to invade Russia. After this attempt to invade, he was defeated once more. After this, Napoleon was placed in home out of France so he could not rule over it. Napoleon escaped this home, and returned to Paris to continue his reign. Napoleon then tried to take control of more land in Europe where he was again defeated at the Battle of Waterloo where UK, Prussia, and the Netherlands all teamed up against the French. Napoleon was then taken to Saint Helena, an island off of the coast of Africa, where he later died.

Citizen participation in Ancient Athens differs from that in the United States in that the Greeks had direct democracy and effectively direct participation of people in government whereas the United States has representative democracy. This means that citizens vote for people that make the decisions in government

I believe that Congress could declare war, (though states could, ahem, not draft soldiers), could sign treaties and trade agreements

yea, i think that's it, since there are much more weaknesses to the Articles of Confederation than strengths....
