Answer:

The rampant occupation of the American West was encouraged by an ideology existing in the United States at the time and by the conditions offered by the American government. During the 19th century, an ideology known as Manifest Destiny was formulated, which claimed that the United States was predestined (chosen) by God to form a great nation. This “divine vocation” was used as a pretext to justify the violence against indigenous people, for example.

The incentive of the American government came with the Homestead Act, or the Settlement Act, enacted in 1862. This law, instituted during the Abraham Lincoln government, offered lots of land in the west at a very low price for interested Americans and demanded in exchange that the land sold was inhabited and cultivated for a minimum period of five years. Thus, farmers sought new land to cultivate and new markets to dominate, and miners sought opportunities for wealth and prosperity at new points of exploitation.

ANEK [815]
I believe it is both Greek and Rome, but more of Greek
Greek is mentioned in relation to democracy, especially the weaknesses of direct democracy, where citizens would congregate at the mount to air their views and elect the candidate of their choice. The candidate who had hired the most talented shouters often won. The limitation of mob type of democracy informed the rationale behind the electoral college.

Rome is mentioned in relation to the course of imperialism on national cohesion and stability, as well as the capture of a good democratic course by totalitarian regimes.

ella [17]

Explanation:

The Fifteenth Amendment had the most long and short term effects. It helped the Republican Party to win in 1870, and this party brought extreme changes to the south. With the passing of this amendment, African Americans felt more empowered to participate in politics and hold office.

Which of the following best defines the underlined word in the following sentence:
Ganezh [65]

The correct option is B

The Kingdom of Israel has its references in the Bible and it has known two periods: the first of them includes a "united kingdom" known as the Kingdom of Israel and involves Saul, David and Solomon (1030-930 BC); the second implies a kingdom resulting from the division of the previous kingdom and that only encompassed the northern part of that initial kingdom (930-720 BC). Since both are known by the name of the Kingdom of Israel and for the purpose of differentiating them, one of the two kingdoms resulting from the division (of that primal kingdom that belonged to Solomon) is called the northern kingdom (as opposed to the kingdom). from the south, which is also known as the Kingdom of Judah). After 210 years of existence, the Northern Kingdom was conquered and destroyed by the Assyrian Empire. The main cities of the Northern Kingdom were: Shechem, Tirzah and Samaria.
