Let w be the width.

2(2w) + 2w = 54.

4w+2w = 54
6w=54.
w=9
So length equals twice that...I think you can solve that on your own. xD

Mr. James McWhinney, president of Daniel-James Financial Services, believes there is a relationship between the number of client
vlada-n [284]

Answer:

\sum_{i=1}^n x_i = 334

\sum_{i=1}^n y_i =611

\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i =13970

\sum_{i=1}^n y^2_i =51581

\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i =26584

With these we can find the sums:

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}=13970-\frac{334^2}{10}=2814.4

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}=26584-\frac{334*611}{10}=6176.6

And the slope would be:

m=\frac{6176.6}{2814.4}=2.195

Nowe we can find the means for x and y like this:

\bar x= \frac{\sum x_i}{n}=\frac{334}{10}=33.4

\bar y= \frac{\sum y_i}{n}=\frac{611}{10}=61.1

And we can find the intercept using this:

b=\bar y -m \bar x=61.1-(2.195*33.4)=-12.213

So the line would be given by:

y=2.195 x -12.213

Step-by-step explanation:

The data given on this case is:

x: 14,12,20,16,46,23,48,50,55,50

y: 24,24,28,30,80,30,90,85,120,110

For this case we need to calculate the slope with the following formula:

m=\frac{S_{xy}}{S_{xx}}

Where:

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}

So we can find the sums like this:

\sum_{i=1}^n x_i = 334

\sum_{i=1}^n y_i =611

\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i =13970

\sum_{i=1}^n y^2_i =51581

\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i =26584

With these we can find the sums:

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}=13970-\frac{334^2}{10}=2814.4

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}=26584-\frac{334*611}{10}=6176.6

And the slope would be:

m=\frac{6176.6}{2814.4}=2.195

Nowe we can find the means for x and y like this:

\bar x= \frac{\sum x_i}{n}=\frac{334}{10}=33.4

\bar y= \frac{\sum y_i}{n}=\frac{611}{10}=61.1

And we can find the intercept using this:

b=\bar y -m \bar x=61.1-(2.195*33.4)=-12.213

So the line would be given by:

y=2.195 x -12.213

HELP ASAP! Write an equation where the solution is b= -6. Include like terms and fractions! Thanks in advance
ryzh [129]
First, I'd like to state there are many possibilties to for this solution.

Okay, 9/3 + 3 = -1b

Lets check.
PEMDAS!
9/3 is = 3

So:
3 + 3 = -1b

Then combine like terms:
6 = -1b

Following PEMDAS, divide -1 on both sides so..
-6 = b or b = -6

So, 9/3 + 3 = -1b works!!!

My textbook doesn't explain square roots well. Can someone help me understand? Example 1 is the square root of 9
Vilka [71]
A square root is doing the opposite of squaring. Squaring is multiplying a number by itself. Square rooting is trying to figure out what number squares into the number you have currently.
For your Example 1, the square root of 9 is 3.
3 x 3 = 9.
Some better examples are:
4 x 4 = 16.
4 is the square root of 16, and 16 is the square of 4.

Y= 3x + 1
Sonbull [250]

Answer: The correct option is option 6, (-4,-11).

Step-by-step explanation: You subsitute 2x-3 for y.

2x-3=3x+1

-x=4

x=-4

Plug in -4 for x in an equation.

y = -8 - 3

y = -11

(-4,-11)

A local restaurant advertises that the mode cost of their most popular meals is $8. If the costs of their most popular meals are
hodyreva [135]

Answer: This kind of advertising is accurate.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Cost of their most popular meals are as follows:

\$7,\$8,\$8,\$12,\$13,\$15,\$17,\$18,\ and\ \$20

As we have given that the mode cost of their most popular meals is $8.

As we know that "Mode" refers to the most occurring number that we can found in the data.

Here, we can see that $8 occurs 2 times , which is the most occurring cost among them.

Hence, Mode = $8.

So, This kind of advertising is accurate.
