Answer:

Reagan significantly increased military spending, which went from 267.1 billion dollars in 1980 (4.9% of GDP and 22.7% of public expenditure) to 393.1 billion in 1988 (5.8% of GDP and 27.3% of public spending). These figures were not seen since the end of the American participation in the Vietnam War, in 1973.

The Reagan administration turned the arms race into a technological struggle, where the largest industrial, military and economic capacity of the United States imposed to the Soviet bloc. During the Reagan administration, Trident nuclear submarines (Ohio class) appeared and took advantage of advances in computer science.

How does the U.S. not live up to our liberal values?
Contact [7]

Answer:

What one makes of all this will depend in part on how one understands the American political tradition. Many liberals view the rejection of liberalism as an alarming threat to "liberal democracy" — and American democracy, in particular — along with the institutions and values associated with it, which include representative government, the separation of powers, free markets, and religious liberty and tolerance. Their concerns are valid, insofar as some of liberalism's most vocal critics on the right and left indict the American political project and its founding as both misbegotten and irredeemably liberal.

Which of the following did NOT occur as a result of the Spanish American War?
Fittoniya [83]

The United States was no longer viewed as a powerful nation.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Spanish–American War took place in the year of 1898 between Spain and United States of America. The Spanish-American war was started due to the explosive attack on the battleship USS Maine in Havana Harbor. The war went on for four months and came to an end after signing the Treaty of Paris.

The government of Spain and America signed this "<u>Treaty of Paris"</u> and made Cuba independent from Spain. America got the territories in the western Pacific and Latin America. So they expanded the foreign trade.
