It would be difficult to rule Alexander the Great's empire due to its massive size! His empire stretched from the Aegean Sea all the way to the edges of the Indus Valley and down into Egypt as well. That massive area contained a huge number of various cultures, religions, and political systems - reconciling all of those factors would be difficult even by today's standards.
