The correct answer is D) to provide structure and support for artisans who shared a trade.

Craft guilds formed in the Middle Ages to provide structure and support for artisans who shared a trade.

Merchants gathered together during the Middle Ages in association or groups called guilds. They did so to protect, defend and support their work and trade of their goods. In the guilds, the members could share skills and learn new things. Three positions were common in the guilds: apprenticeship, that were the beginners; Journeyman, was a skilled craftsman that could work in a specific thing, and the Master, who was had proven hi dominate his skill and work.

Why are checks and balances and separation of powers necessary?
ziro4ka [17]
They are important because without them there would be chaos. Checks and balances is basically checking on the others. The separation is for the three branches(Executive, Legislative, Judiciary) , each have the power to do their own duty; so there would not be just ONE person who takes over.
