Ketone bodies are produced in mitochondria of liver cells to augment the shortage of glucose in the body. Shortage of blood sugar glucose can occur due to fasting, rigorous exercises or medical conditions.
Ketones bodies are chemical substances with the RC(=O)R' functional group and they are produced in the body. There are two main reasons behind the production of ketone bodies.
The first reason is because of response to starvation; ketones are synthesized in the body of human beings and are produced when someone has insufficient food in his body. This response is when the person does not have diabetes.
The second reason is because of the shortage in glucose content of the body. The glucose in the body gives energy and when glucose is in shortage, ketone bodies can be used to replace the glucose.
The distance from the equator affects the climate of a place. At the poles, energy from the sun reaches the Earth's surface at lower angles and passes through a thicker layer of atmosphere than at the equator.
