Performance is defined in terms of smoothly carrying out task and completion of action as well as functions of system according to the standards.
Due to performance limitation , regular system is not able to cope with the new hardware or devices added in a system and therefore cannot carry out functions properly.
It is adapted to work with limited parts and hardware and thus become outdated when new hardware gets invoked.
