Your unalienable rights are something that nobody can take away from you. When drafting the Constitution, they used the philosopher John Locke's quote. "Life Liberty and Property." and turned it into, "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." Today these are known as our unalienable rights. An example of one of our unalienable, that is used in court cases to argue against the death sentence, is the right to live.
