It's called <em>Wheatfield with Crows</em>, and it was painted in 1890. Some critics consider this work to be the highlight of van Gogh's creation. Van Gogh was known for his thick application of paint on canvas, which can be seen in this work too. This painting technique is called "impasto" from the Italian word mixture, and it represents such a densely applied paint that the layers, textures and brush strokes can be clearly seen on the canvas.
