Change mixed fraction to improper fraction and also the second fraction has to be reciprocal

Ex- 3/8= 8/3

So now the problem is

13/8*8/3= 13/3 (because you cross divide) Now, turn into fraction

Divide

13 divided by 3= 4 1/3

So your final answer is 4 1/3

1 5/8 ÷ 3/8

1)first make everything into improper fraction.

13/8 ÷ 3/8

*for the improper fraction, the 1 for this case equal 8/8. 8/8 + 5/8 = 13/8

2) flip the second number (in this case 3/8) upside down and make the division sign multiplication.

13/8 x 8/3

3) multiply

104/24

simplify

104 ÷ 4       26        13
----------  =  -----  =   ----
24 ÷ 4          6           3

your answer is 13/3 or 4 1/3

hope this helps :D
