Z= (X-mean)/s.d.

X (height in inches) = (Z*sd)+mean = (1.5*2.4)+54 = 57.6 in

We have been given that the heights of the children at a summer camp are normally distributed with a mean of 54 inches and a standard deviation of 2.4 inches.

We are asked to find out height of a child with a z-score of 1.5.

Since we know we can find out height a child using z score formula.

z=\frac{x- \mu }{\sigma}, where z represents z score, x represents the value we want to find out z score of, \mu represents mean of the data and \sigma represents standard deviation of data.

Upon substituting our given values in this formula we will get,

1.5=\frac{x-54}{2.4}\\
\\
1.5\cdot 2.4= x- 54\\
\\
3.6=x-54\\
\\
x=3.6+54=57.6

Therefore, height of the child with a z score of 1.5 will be 57.6 inches.

What is the distance between the following points?
timama [110]

Answer:

D. d = \sqrt{58}

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the distance formula: d = \sqrt{(x2 - x1)^{2}+ (y2 - y1)^{2}  }

The two points are (6, -2) and (3, -9)

Plug the values into the formula:

d = \sqrt{(3 - 6)^{2}+ (-9 + 2)^{2}  }

Simplify

d = \sqrt{(-3)^{2}+ (-7)^{2}  }

d = \sqrt{9+ 49  }

d = \sqrt{58}

I hope this helps :))

HELPPPP <br><br>which value is equal to 2✓28-5✓63?<br><br>a-37✓7<br>b-✓7<br>c-11✓7<br>d✓7
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

c

Step-by-step explanation:

if I understand this right, then the expression is

2×sqrt(28) - 5×sqrt(63)

let's look for squared factors in the numbers under the square roots.

28 = 4×7 (4 is a squared number)

63 = 9×7 (9 is a squared number)

so,

2×sqrt(4×7) - 5×sqrt(9×7) =

= 2×2×sqrt(7) - 5×3×sqrt(7) = 4×sqrt(7) - 15×sqrt(7) =

= (4 - 15)×sqrt(7) = -11×sqrt(7)
