A=LW
P=2(L+W)

54=LW
30=2(L+W)
15=L+W
minus W both sides
15-W=L
sub 15-W for L

54=(15-W)W

54=15W-W^2

times -1 both sides

-54=W^2-15W

add 54 both sides

0=W^2-15W+54

factor

what 2 numbers multiply to get 54 and add to get -15

-9 and -6

0=(W-9)(W-6)
set to zero
w-9=0
w=9
w-6=0
w=6

15-W=L
15-9=6
15-6=9

the dimentions are 6 inches by 8 inches

What is -14n+1=rt-4n, solving for n
Korvikt [17]
Answer: n = -rt/10 + 1/10

Explanation: isolate the variable by dividing each side with the factors that don’t contain n, then isolate n to get this answer.

Hope this helps!

1~ A quick. rough estimate of the time required for money to double can be obtained by dividing which ofthe following numbers by
dem82 [27]

Answer:

B. 72

Step-by-step explanation:

The rule of 72 is used as a rough estimate of the number of years required for an investment to double.

According to this rule, the number of years 'n' necessary to double an investment at an annual rate 'r' is:

n=\frac{72}{r}

Therefore, the number that when divided by the interest rate gives the number of years required to double an investment is 72.

The answer is B. 72.

Find the equation of a line, in slope intercept form of a line that passes through the point (-5,-1) and is parallel to the line
Ludmilka [50]

Answer:

y = 1/2x + 3/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the equation of the line

y - y_1 = m ( x - x_1)

First find the slope of the line

-2x + 4y = 8

It must be in this form

y = mx + C

4y = 8 + 2x

divide through by 4

4y/4 = 8 + 2x / 4

y = 8 + 2x/4

Let's separate

y = 8/4 + 2x/4

y = 2 + 1/2x

y = 1/2x + 2

Therefore, our slope or m is 1/2

Using the equation of the line

y - y_1 = m ( x - x_1)

With point (-5, -1)

x_1 = -5

y_1 = -1

y - (-1) = 1/2(x - (-5)

y + 1 = 1/2( x + 5)

Opening the brackets

y + 1 = x + 5 / 2

y = x + 5/2 - 1

Lcm is 2

y = x + 5 / 2 - 1/1

y = x + 5 -2/2

y = x +3/2

We can still separate it

y = x /2 + 3/2

y = 1/2x + 3/2

The equation of the line is

y = 1/2x + 3/2

The correct answer is A
