During World War II, Germany was a member of the ‘Axis Powers’.

Further Explanation:-

The world war-2 took place between the Axis Powers Vs Allied Powers. The countries that were the part of Axis Powers were Japan, Hungary, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania and Germany whereas the countries which formed allied powers were United States, Britain, France, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Australia, China, Denmark, Greece, Belgium, Norway, Poland, Netherlands, and New Zealand. These Axis powers grew out of diplomatic efforts that were made by Germany, Italy and Japan because these countries wanted to protect their own interests during the middle period of the 1930s. During the period of world war-2, These Axis countries had hold over larger parts of Europe, East Asia and Northern Africa but during the war, there was a lack of coordination between these axis powers and no meetings were taking place between these countries to form a strategy for the war. The corporation between these Axis powers was minimum and only limited communication was there between Germany and Italy. This lack of communication led to the defeat of Axis powers in 1945 as their alliance was dissolved. Another reason for the defeat of these Axis powers was that some of their alliances switched sides during the course of the war and joined the Allied Powers.

 • This case OVERTURNED the precedent.

Plessy v. Ferguson:

 • Said that segregation (separation based on skin color) was ALLOWED.

How were Plessy v. Ferguson and Brown v. Board of Education different?

Plessy v. Ferguson was a case in the U.S. Supreme Court which affirmed that segregation based on skin color was allowed so long as both races were still treated equally.

Board of Education overturned the precedent and said that segregation by its very nature was not equal and so could not be allowed.
