Homogenization is a change such that something will be more unified, less varied, more "the same". When McDonald's are built around the world, it brings the same  logos, symbols, food, food culture and others around the world, making the world look more alike; so it is possible to find a place in India (McDonald's) that looks the same as some place in the US: this is a part of homogenization.

Answer:

It allowed farmers to quickly ship cotton to port cities for transport to overseas markets.

Explanation:

The invention of the steamboat in the early 1800s promoted economic development in Georgia by allowing farmers to quickly ship cotton to port cities for transport to overseas markets.

The steamboat became a crucial part of the revolution in transportation. It became a defining aspect of the cotton kingdom. The Mississippi River was an essential water highway in United States that helped the South. The steamboats helped to transport cotton on the plantations from the South to the port at New Orleans. From there, tge cotton was carried to Liverpool, England where British manufacturers who ran cotton mills bought them. It actually led to creation of new wealth and new residents to that city.
