There were 11 crackers to begin with. Because if you give the fractions a common denominator of 12 you multiply how you got to 12 by the top as well then you would subtract and add it to the five that were left

Samuel can type nearly 40 words per minute. Use this information to find the number of hours it would take him to type 3.4 × 105
Vesna [10]

Answer:

8.925 minutes or 0.14875 hours..?

Step-by-step explanation:

I feel like I'm missing something here... The 3.4 x 105 words seems off. Why didn't they just say 357 words?

Assuming that he types 40 WPM and they're looking for how long it would take for him to type 357 words:

3.4*105 = 357 words total

\frac{357}{40} = 8.925 minutes

\frac{8.925}{60} = 0.14875 hours

Juan told Sylvia he got a $0.50 raise this week and his new hourly rate will be $10.25 an hour. Sylvia wants to know what Juan’s
zhenek [66]

Answer:

The correct answer is:

r + 0.50 = 10.25: Subtract .50 from both sides. The answer is $9.75.

This is because Juan got a $0.50 raise which means that his new rate will be $0.50 more than his original rate (r).
