In this unit, you looked at numerical measures for statistics, including measures of central tendency and distribution for one-d

imensional data and correlations for two-dimensional data. You also used histograms, box plots, and scatter grams to visually analyze central tendency, distribution, and correlation. What do you consider to be the advantages of the numerical values? What do you consider to be the advantages of the visual representations? Which do you prefer working with, and why?

Some advantages of using the numerical values are that it sums up all the data in a simple way (if you use the correct number for the data).  If you are trying to communicate information about all the data that has been collected in a simple way (ex: grade), it makes sense to use numbers.  Another advantage is that numerical data is relatively simple to find, when compared to representing the data visually.

Advantages of using visual representations are that you can see patterns/tendencies more easily within the data when there are pictures/organization of the data.  Visual representations also give a broader perspective of the entire data set, instead of just using one number.  You can see how data is represented from the beginning to the end.

The last question is an opinion question, but my preference is visual.

Answer:

Well, for numerical values, it sums up all the data in a rather simple way. It's rather simple to distinguish the numbers that way. As for advantages of visual representations, one can easily spot shapes, time, et cetera. I prefer visual because I'm a visual learner.

Answer:

  • arc BC: 8.55 cm
  • chord BC: 8.03 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The length of an arc that subtends central angle α will be ...

  s = rα . . . . where α is in radians

The central angle BOC is twice the measure of angle QBC, so is 70°, or 7π/18 radians. So, the length of arc BC is ...

  s = (7 cm)(7π/18) ≈ 8.55 cm . . . arc BC

__

For central angle α and radius r, the chord subtending the arc is ...

  c = 2r·sin(α/2)

  c = 2(7 cm)sin(35°) ≈ 8.03 cm . . . . chord AB

State if the polygons are similar
Mashutka [201]
Polygons are similar? Well there is no picture provided, so I have no idea what you're talking about. But I think you might be asking if in general all polygons are similar, and if that's the case, they are not. Similar means they are similar in at least one aspect, and all polygons are different from each other, only adding one line for each bigger polygon. So I don't know if this helped you, but I tried anyways.

algol [13]

Answer:

B :point 2 and point 3

Step-by-step explanation:

The only interior angles are 6, 2, 3, and 7

The angles equal to each other are 6 and 7 or 2 and 3

6 and 7 is not an option so 2 and 3 are the correct answer.

Stephen uses \dfrac{2}{25}
zepelin [54]

Answer:

13\dfrac{3}{4}$ servings

Step-by-step explanation:

Stephen uses \dfrac{2}{25} kilograms of tofu in each serving of his dish.

He has 1\dfrac{1}{10} kilograms of tofu.

We want to determine how many servings Stephen can make.

To do this, we divide the total weight of tofu by the weight per serving.

\dfrac{\text{Total Weight(in kg)}}{\text{Weight(kg) per serving}} =\dfrac{1\dfrac{1}{10}}{ \dfrac{2}{25}}\\ = \dfrac{11}{10}\div  \dfrac{2}{25}\\\\= \dfrac{11}{10}X  \dfrac{25}{2}\\\\= \dfrac{11X25}{10X2}\\\\= \dfrac{275}{20}\\\\=13\dfrac{3}{4}$ servings

Stephen can make 13\dfrac{3}{4}$ servings .
