How can an author encourage a reader's suspension of disbelief?

Answer:

There are three ways that an author can use to keep readers willing to go along their story:

1- Use simple language: If the author uses unrecognisable words, the reader has to exit the story world as the author put strain on his ability to suspend disbelief.

2- Maintain internal consistency: To maintain suspension of disbelief the story has to remain believable at the same time it is internally consistent.

3- Create flawed characters: The author has to create normal characters whose traits and reactions line up with each other.

Explanation:

Suspection disbelief is the semi*conscious decision in which a person put aside his belief and accept the premise as real for the whole story, he choose to suspend that disbelief, instead of feel it as the emotion he face when something that is not real. When an author stretches our willingness to do this to the extent that we feel betrayed,  readers give in to disbelief.
