Abiotic factors in an ecosystem are non-living things that affect organisms present in that ecosystem. Examples of abiotic factors include temperature, humidity, precipitation, and sunlight.

Two abiotic gactors, which can be used to classify terrestrial biome of earth, are precipitation and temperature. These biomes include tundra, temperate forest, tropical forest, dessert, and temperate grassland, which are classified on the basis of average temperature and rainfall in these regions.
