Igneous rock is formed from cooling molten rock, most likely from volcanoes.

There are two types of igneous rock: extrusive and intrusive

Extrusive cools on the outside of the earth's surface, and therefore has more air in it, and intrusive cools inside the earth, seeping through the ground.
