A. If it’s just the rate of games per hour, you would just divide the number of games played (3) by the total amount of time played since it already measured in hours (2.5). I got 1.2 games per hour which makes sense because they played just a few more games than hours they played.
C. To find cost per person, you would divide the total cost by the amount of people present: $42/4 (don’t forget to count yourself). I got $10.50.
D. Cost per minute would be the total cost divided by the number of MINUTES played (2.5 x 60) so $42/150 is $.28 or 28 cents.

Andrew goes to a store an buys an item that costs xx dollars. He has a coupon for 35% off, and then a 8% tax is added to the dis
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

xx(0.65) + xx(0.08)

Step-by-step explanation:

First step is to find the discounted price. Finding 35% less than the original xx is the same as finding 65% of it, so we multiply by 0.65. Once this is completed we need to find 8% more than that. So we add 8% of xx, which is the same as multiplying by 0.08. Hope this helps :)

Pencil cores are glued between slabs of cedar to make a pencil sand which. A total of 52,500 pencil sandwiches are made over 5 d
raketka [301]

Answer:

10,500

Step-by-step explanation:

You must divide 52,500 by 5.

5 goes into the 5 in 52,500 one time. 5-5 is 0. 5 doesn't go into 2 so put a 0. 5 goes into 25 five times. 25-25 is 0. 5 goes into 5 one time. subtract and add the zeros at end. And you get 10,500

She walks 2 minutes for every 5 she runs. If she walks for 12 minutes how many minutes does she spend running?
ehidna [41]
Answer:

I believe it is, 30 minutes of running.

Explanation:

If she spends 12 minutes walking, that means she’s done 6 ‘sets’ of two minutes.

Then, you just have to multiply 6 by 5 and then you get 30.

How would the expression x^3-8 be rewritten using difference of cubes
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Answer:

(x - 2)(x² + 2x + 4)

Step-by-step explanation:

A difference of cubes factors in general as

• a³ - b³ = (a - b)(a² + ab + b² )

note 8 = 2³ = 8 ⇒ b = 2 , with a = x

Hence

x³ - 8

= x³ - 2³

= (x - 2)(x² + 2x + 2²) = (x - 2)(x² + 2x + 4)

Find five consecutive integers such that: "the sum of the first and 4 times the third is equal to 60 less than 3 times the sum o
Monica [59]

Consecutive integers are integers that come one after another in order. For example, 2, 3, and 4 are all consecutive integers, as well as 100, 101, and 102. In general, if we have some integer n, the consecutive integers following it will be n + 1, n + 2, n + 3, etc. Here, we have five. If we

  • Call the first integer n,
  • Then the second integer will be n + 1,
  • The third will be n + 2,
  • The fourth will be n + 3,
  • And the fifth will be n + 4.

Now, let's break down the equation in English. We'll use #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 as stand-ins for the five integers just so we can get things set up, then we'll replace them with the expressions we came up with in the first part. Starting from the beginning of the statement, let's translate words to symbols:

  • "The sum of the first and 4 times the third" → #1 + 4 × #3
  • "is equal to" → = (maybe obvious, but still!)
  • "60 less than 3 times the sum of the second, fourth, and fifth" → 3 × (#2 + #4 + #5) - 60

Putting that all together, we get the equation

#1 + 4 × #3 = 3 × (#2 + #4 + #5) - 60.

Replacing our stand-ins for the expressions we came up with, it becomes

n + 4(n + 2) = 3[(n + 1) + (n + 3) + (n + 4)] - 60

We can now start to simplify our equation to find n (the first integer) and the rest will follow easily from that. I'll start by focusing on the left side. We can distribute and combine like terms like so:

n + 4(n+2) = n + 4n + 8 = 5n + 8

Dealing with the right, we can get rid of some redundant parentheses and carry out the same process:

3[(n + 1) + (n + 3) + (n + 4)] - 60 = 3(n + 1 + n + 3 + n + 4) - 60

= 3(3n + 8) - 60 = 9n + 24 - 60 = 9n - 36

Our simplified equation now becomes

5n + 8 = 9n - 36.

Subtracting 5n from either side:

8 = 4n - 36

Adding 36 to either side:

44 = 4n

And dividing either side by 4:

11 = n.

We now know that our first integer is 11, which means that our 5 consecutive integers are 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15.
