Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

340/25 = 13.6 = 13 hours and 10 min

30 x 13.6 = 408 hours

25x+30y= 340 and y=2x can be used to determine the number of hours cooper worked and the number of hours isaiah worked. Where x Isaiah 's working hours and y is cooper's working hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Isaiah ironing rate per hour = 25 shirts

Cooper ironing rate per hour = 30 shirts

Total shirts pressed = 340

Let,

Isaiah´s number of hours = x

Cooper's number of hours = y

According to given statement;

25x+30y=340   Eqn 1

Hudson worked twice many hours as grace.

y = 2x    Eqn 2

Define Variables:

Let x = the number of hours Isaiah worked

Let y = the number of hours Cooper worked

Isaiah can iron 25 shirts each hour, so in x hours he can iron 25x shirts. Cooper can iron 30 shirts each hour, so in y hours he can iron 30y shirts. The total number of shirts ironed 25x+30y equals 340

Since Cooper worked twice as many hours as Isaiah, Cooper worked more hours, so if we multiply 2 by the number of hours Isaiah worked, we will get the number of hours Cooper worked, meaning y equals 2x.

System of Equations:

25x + 30y = 340

y = 2x
