What would the y intercept of a line B if it is perpendicular to 1/3x+2
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Hey!

Hope this Helps....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To find the perpendicular line, of any given line goes like this...
if m (slope) of this given line is 1/3, than we know that the perpendicular line has a slope of -3
Now, to find the equation of this line, we need to find out where it crosses the y-axis... And because we are not given any specific points on where the perpendicular line crosses. We see that the point it pass the y-axis is 0
So... the perpendicular line of 1/3x+2 is -3x
What is the average rate of change of f over the interval [-3,9]
inn [45]
The average rate of change of a function on an interval [a, b] is equal to \frac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}. So, the average rate of change of f on the interval [-3, 9] is equal to \frac{f(9)-f(-3)}{12}.
