In a race, Car #1 went an average of 165 miles per hour for x hours before dropping out. Car #2 went an average of 175 miles per

hour for y hours before dropping out. The distance Car #1 travelled was at least that of Car #2. Using the values and variables given, write an inequality describing this.

When you think about it. It's actually quite easy.
The number are the amount of miles, and the variables are the amount of hours. So we would just have to multiply them. So, by putting the number together we would be able to multiply them once we have the numbers for the variables. Since we dont have them, we can just make the inequality. It says that car 1 traveled at LEAST that of car 2. Showing that car 1 may have traveled farther. SOOOOO........ the inequality should look like this:

165x <span>≥ 175y</span>

Answer:

165x ≥ 175y

Step-by-step explanation:

Car # 1 went with an average speed of 165 miles per hour.

Time of run = x hours

Since Distance = Speed × time

Distance = 165x miles

Car # 2 traveled with an average speed = 175 miles per hour

Duration by which car traveled = y hours

Distance traveled = Speed × time

                             = 175y miles

The distance car #1 traveled was at least that of car #2.

That means Distance traveled by car #1 ≥ Distance traveled by car #2

165x ≥ 175y

What is 5 1/2 of 60%
EleoNora [17]
You mean 60%of 5 1/2? that makes more sense...

i would do it like this:

\frac{60}{100}* 5\frac{1}{2}

(60% is the same as \frac{60}{100}

5\frac{1}{2}=\frac{11}{2}

(so that there is no confusion, i've put it into an improper fraction

now we can multiply:
\frac{60}{100}* \frac{11}{2}=

\frac{6}{10}* \frac{11}{2}=

\frac{3}{5}* \frac{1}{2}=

\frac{3*11}{10}=

\frac{33}{10}=

which is 3.3.

so 60% of 5 and a half is 3.3.

A)none <br> B)7<br> C)6i<br> D)I-6<br> E) - square of 7<br> ( look at the picture better)
Anika [276]

The correct answer is A). None

Step-by-step explanation:

The given quadratic polynomial has 3 roots and some of roots are x=\sqrt{7} and x=6+i

It is necessary to note that one of the roots is a complex number and root of complex number always in pair of the conjugate to each other.

Since x=6+i

Conjugate of (6+i) is (6-i)

<em>Therefore, (6-i) is 3rd required root of a polynomial </em>

<em>The correct answer is A). None</em>

the local store is having a sale on ground beef- $10 for 3 pounds. sylvia needs 12 pounds of meat to make 50 hamburgers. how muc
Rashid [163]
10/3 = x / 12.....$ 10 to 3 lbs = $ x to 12 lbs
cross multiply
3x = 120
x = 120/3
x = 40....so it is gonna cost Sylvia $ 40 for the meat.

she plans on making 50 burgers......40 ($ worth of meat) / 50 (burgers)  =
0.8....so for each burger, the meat will cost 0.80 or 80 cents <==
