The Harlem Renaissance began somewhere in 1920. It was an artistic/musical movement of the US. This was when Jazz and Blues really began to become popular. This was important because it helped to calm down racism quite a bit. Two people who are widely known during the Harlem renaissance were Louis Armstrong and Aaron Douglas.
