Mr. Elmo Norman my elementary school principle was the most nervous man I have ever met. He was a short pudgy man, always over d

ressed. In fact, he didn't just wear his clothes he hid inside them. His uniform consisted of a neatly pressed pin striped suit, a thin black tie over a starched white shirt, an a pair of brightly polished brown oxfords. His receding gray hair was neatly trimmed and his fat wrinkled head always darted about like a radar blip on his neck. He paced the school hallways in perpetual motion of twitching, fidgeting and twiddling. In the space he took a minute, he would wrinkle his little nose, scratch his plump chin, shrug his shoulders, straighten his tie and glace at his watch, never once looking directly at the person he was with. As he spoke in his lackadaisical drawl, he would glance at the ceiling, inspect his knuckles and check the floorboards for dust. When the conversation was over, he would dash back into his office like a frighten bunny, probably praying that he could lock himself in there forever. And for all I know he may still be hiding in his office today. b. underline or highlight the words, phrases or sentences that give clues to mr. elmo character traits in the paragraph c what is the point of view that the story being told from? d. how do you know that it is this type of point of view? 4. Write a story that ends with
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Explanation:

My daughter, nothing and nobody can take away your education.

Prioritise that first.

I looked at him without saying anything,

As he drank his traditional beer.

My father’s wise words still echo in my ears,

It’s as if he said them yesterday.

And yet, several years have passed by already.

When I look at how my life has turned out,

I see the importance of his wise words.

My Dad was right after all.

Which two scenarios are examples of internal conflict? Rosa must submit her book report on Monday. By Sunday afternoon, however,
Archy [21]
Internal conflict would be Rosa’s situation (because she is practically mentally fighting with herself, because one side of her is telling her to do the work while the other side is telling her to go shopping, resulting in a dilemma about what to do even though she knows that the first decision would be right) and Gina’s situation (one side of her is leaning towards tearing the paper while the other side of her is pulling her towards getting the treatment, also causing a dilemma even though she knows the right decision would be the latter).

Which literary elements define narrative poetry? Select 4 options.
matrenka [14]

Answer:

rhythm and rhyme, figurative language, plot and setting, characters.

Explanation:

I'm sorry I'm not really good at explaining but ill try

plot: a secret plan or scheme to accomplish some purpose, especially a hostile, unlawful, or evil purpose: a plot to overthrow the government. Also called storyline. the plan, scheme, or main story of a literary or dramatic work, as a play, novel, or short story.

RYTHM AND RHYME: Rhythm is the pattern of language in a line of a poem, marked by the stressed and unstressed syllables in the words. Rhyme, on the other hand, is the matching up of sounds and syllables, usually at the end of lines. Together, they make up the framework of many poems and help to separate poetry from prose writing.

Figurative language: is phrasing that goes beyond the literal meaning of words to get a message or point across.Writers create figurative language through figures of speech such as: Simile

Characters: Sometimes the reader reads the poem even if the plot is not good because of the characters writers tend to give characters a sad backstory or a lovable personality to make the reader feel an emotional connection

hope it helps :)

why does alexander pope use the style and narrative form of epics to describe a relatively insignificant incident in “the rape o
solong [7]
The correct answer is to mock the epic form, which was popular among the upper class

The other answer are also correct, however, they don't refer to the style and structure, but rather to the content. He wanted to show stylistically that the society read only epics that were bad and wanted to make fun of that.
