For future reference, it would be easier to say 8 and a half miles. Just a tip for better understanding. Now I am pretty sure the answer would be the first one. You would take the total divided by the variable of each day to get the number of days

Given the following absolute value function find the range f(x)= |x+5|-8
Flauer [41]
The minimum value for |x+5| is 0, so the minimum for f(x) is 0-8=-8.
There is no maximum for |x+5|, so neither does f(x).
Therefore the range of f(x)=|x+5|-8 is [-8,+inf) in interval notation, or
from -8 to infinity in words.

Mark is planning to apply to a college in Indianapolis. The breakdown of the cost per year of college is given below.
SpyIntel [72]

Answer:

It is the total cost of housing and plane tickets for four years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Mark's costs for tuition, technology fee, and books are all per semester, s. ($2,600 + $150 + $310)s = $,060s

The cost for housing and plane tickets are a once a year cost. Mark pays these amounts once a year for four years.4($5,600 + $289) = $23,556

Therefore, the constant in the expression is $23,556, and it is the total cost for housing and plane tickets for four years.

Solve :1/1-x^a-b +1/1-x^b-a
Olegator [25]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{1}{1-x^{a-b}}+\frac{1}{1-x^{b-a}}\\\\\frac{1}{1-x^{b-a}}=\frac{1}{1-x^{-(a-b)}}=\frac{1}{1-\frac{1}{x^{a-b}}}\\=\frac{1}{\frac{x^(a-b)-1}{x^(a-b)}}=\frac{x^{a-b}}{x^{a-b}-1}\\\\=\frac{x^{a-b}}{-(1-x^{a-b})}=-\frac{x^{a-b}}{1-x^{a-b}}\\\\\frac{1}{1-x^{a-b}}+\frac{1}{1-x^{b-a}}=\frac{1}{1-x^{a-b}}-\frac{x^{a-b}}{1-x^{a-b}}\\\\=\frac{1-x^{a-b}}{1-x^{a-b}}=1

The ratio of the number of boys to girls is 5:7 if there are 600 studens in school how many girls are there
Art [367]

Answer:

There would be 350 girls in the school.

Step-by-step explanation:

We can find this by creating two proportions. the first fraction would be the number of girls out in the sample:

7/12

The second part would be the amount of girls in the whole school. We can set the girls as x since we do not know.

x/600

Now we can set the two equal to each other and cross multiply.

7/12 = x/600

600*7 = 12*x

4200 = 12x

350 = x
